Greene County Combined Health District Announces

Two Community Flu Clinics in October

 

(XENIA, OH)  The Greene County Combined Health District (GCCHD) has announced that it will hold two (2) community flu clinics (both are open to adults and children) in Xenia during October.  The clinic schedule is as follows:

 

Monday, October 30, 2006:   7 a.m. – 7 p.m.                       Media Center at 541 Ledbetter Road

Tuesday, October 31, 2006:   7 a.m. – 7 p.m.                       Media Center at 541 Ledbetter Road.

 

As per the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), GCCHD will be providing the flu vaccine to Greene County residents who meet at least one of the following criteria:

 

1.      Children ages 6 – 59 months

2.      Household contacts and out of home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age

3.      Pregnant women

4.      People 50 years of age and older

5.      People of any age with high-risk medical conditions and household contacts of people with high-risk medical conditions (note from a physician is required)

6.      Health care workers.

 

The cost per flu shot is $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children.  Cash and checks will be accepted.   Medicaid and Medicare Part B are the only insurances accepted; card must be shown.

Greene County Health Commissioner, Mark A. McDonnell, reminds everyone to maintain good health by washing hands regularly, covering coughs and sneezes, eating a balanced diet, exercising and getting the right amount of sleep.
