Offers Childhood Lead Testing

 

 

Xenia, Ohio, August 8, 2006 – The Greene County Combined Health District (GCCHD) continues to offer childhood lead testing to residents of Greene County.

 

The testing is offered as part of the District’s Tots N Teens well child clinic on Mondays.  The cost of the test is $30.00 (Medicaid and some insurances accepted) and an appointment is needed.   

 

Guidelines for Childhood Lead Testing are:

 

§        Test at age 1

 

§        Test at age 2

 

§        Test at age 6 if never been tested.

 

GCCHD reminds residents that items/toys that contain lead or are suspected of containing lead can be returned to the point of purchase or disposed of in the regular trash.
